The Guinness Book of Records recognized the 115 -year -old British Ethel Katerham the oldest person in the world. On Thursday, May 1, it was reported on the Guinness Book of Records website.
She was born on August 21, 1909 in Hampshire, in a family with eight children. In 1924 he went on a three -week sea trip, and at the age of 18 he worked as a nurse in India, where he maintained a warm memory of a combination of British and local traditions.
In 1931, Ethel met her husband in the future – primary of British Army Norman Katerham. Two years later, they got married, and eventually lived together in Salisber, Hong Kong and Gibraltar. In Asia, Ethel opened a kindergarten. After returning to England, the couple lived in Surrey, where they had daughters Jam and Ann.
After the death of a man in 1976, Ethel experienced both children. He has three grandchildren and five great -GrandChildren.
Now she lives in a nursing home, named her – “Ethel Garden”, and enjoys nature, bird and classical music.
Ethel has become the youngest of the oldest women in the past 12 years, and perhaps the single living person born in 1909. Her older sister Gladys has also lived a long time – up to 104 years.
