The US noted that this sale will contribute to the US foreign policy and safe interest, boosting the capacity of defense of an important partner in the Persian Gulf region.
The United States Department of State approved the sale of the past-deployment build 8.1 to the Kuwait government. The estimated transaction value is $ 425 million. On Wednesday, April 30, the Agency of Defense Cooperation and Security reported.
It is noted that the corresponding notice was transferred to Congress for the official approval.
According to the agreement, Kuwait will receive services for supply, installation and modernization of the Patriot Complex, as well as related logistics, engineering and educational components. The package includes software development, spare components, technical support, staff training and other elements to ensure stable functioning of the system.
American authorities have emphasized that this sale will contribute to the US foreign policy and safe interest, strengthening the ability of the defense of an important partner in the Persian Gulf region. The statement states that Kuwait can easily integrate the acquired equipment into its own armed forces, and the balance of the forces in the region will not be violated.
The main contract enforcement is the RTX Corporation (formerly Raytheon), located in Voltem, Massachusetts. The US government has not yet received information about the existence of compensation agreements in the framework of this transaction – they can be discussed directly between Kuwait and the contractor.
The implementation of the contract will require the attraction of 3-5 US government representatives or contractors, which for the next 8-10 years will periodically visit Kuwait to provide technical support and maintenance of systems.
Washington emphasized that this deal will not affect the readiness of the United States itself. The final value of the contract depends on the final requirements, the existing budget and the results of the negotiations.
Also on the eve of the United States the Romanian patriot system was approved. It is noted that this sale will improve Romania’s ability to withstand the present and future threats.
Remember that a few weeks ago, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine was ready to buy a patriot system for $ 1.5 billion, but still had no answer.
Earlier, the White House said Trump would consider moving further patriot to Ukraine.
