Currently, Moscow has not received proposals from Washington regarding the zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant and the possible joint management of the United States and Ukraine.
Russia is ready to discuss with the United States their existence in the zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant as part of the regulating war in Ukraine. Russian State Corporation leader Rosatom Alexei Likhachev, Interfax reported Wednesday, April 30, said this Wednesday.
“If a political decision is made by the country’s leadership, we are willing to discuss it on the American side,” Likhachev said in a corresponding question of Russian propagandists.
The agency noted that on Monday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Moscow had not received proposals for ZAES and the possible joint administration of the United States and Ukraine.
“No, we did not receive such an offer, and if we get it, we will explain that the office of the Zaporizhzhya NPP is under the scope of the Russian State Corporation Rosatom, under the supervision of IAEA personnel, which is constantly present on the site and monitor,” Lavrov said.
Earlier in April, The Wall Street Journal wrote that the United States offered to provide neutral status to territories around Zaes and move them under American control. President Vladimir Zelensky reacted.
Earlier, US Minister of Energy Chris Wright said the American side could take Ukrainian nuclear power plant.
And the Russian Foreign Ministry said Russia “does not consider it possible” to move ZAES or control over it in Ukraine or any other country.
