Ukraine’s assistance cannot be carried out only by weapons, the American leader mentioned.
US president Donald Trump suggested that some actions of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin could encourage him to the Ukraine side. He said this in an Atlantic interview, published the day before.
He was asked if he was considering continuing assistance in Ukraine with weapons.
“It doesn’t have to be a weapon. There are many weapons types. No need to be weapons that are shooting ammunition. It can be a weapon in the form of penalties. It can be a weapon in the form of a banking system. It can be many other types of weapons,” replied the American leader.
Trump also answered the question if there was something Putin could do, what would he say: “You know what? Now I’m next to Zelensky.”
“Not necessary to the Zelensky side, but on the side of Ukraine, yes. But not necessary to the Zelensky side. It’s hard for me with Zelensky,” Trump said, remembering a fight with the Ukrainian leader in a White House.
Remember, on April 26, Donald Trump suggested that Russian leader Vladimir Putin did not want to stop the war in Ukraine and therefore “he should fight him differently.”
This statement by the American leader sounded after his meeting with Zelensky in the Vatican. As a result of the negotiations, the Ukrainian state head of the Ukrainian said his meeting with Trump had the potential to be historic. And in the White House they called the meeting “very productive.”
