Russian dwarf dictator Putin was often late for meetings, for example, with the Pope. But on July 19, in Tehran, the Russian president had to wait 50 seconds for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, with whom he had negotiations, to arrive.

Given this video, the wait was not easy on the way. The President of Russia awkwardly stood alone in front of the photographers, shifting from foot to foot and waiting for a meeting with his Turkish counterpart.
It is usually the Russian president who makes world leaders wait. According to The Guardian, this could have been Erdogan Putin’s “response” as the latter also kept his Turkish counterpart waiting before meeting in Moscow in 2020. The President of Turkey waited so long for the President of Russia in the meeting room that he finally sat down.
Joyce Karam, senior correspondent for Middle East media organization National News, tweeted:
Those 50 seconds that Erdogan kept Putin waiting, looking haggard in front of the cameras, speaks to how much has changed since Ukraine.
There is speculation that Putin’s “lateness” policy is part of his psychological game. For example, in 2003, Queen Elizabeth II had to wait 14 minutes to meet with the Russian leader.
In 2015, he made the Pope wait for him at the Vatican for an hour. Putin also kept former US President Donald Trump and former German Chancellor Angela Merkel waiting.
