His mother Juliana Gallin Gloss is deputy director of external intelligence of the United States. According to independent Russian portal, Michael Gloss was killed in April 2024 in the Bakhmut area as a soldier of the Russian army.
According to the portal, Michael Gloss joined the Russian army in 2023, after he quit his studies in the American state of Vermont and went to the world for several months. Through Italy, Israel (where he was deported) and Turkey, where he helped the victims of the earthquake for some time, his path led to Russia.
According to one acquaintance, he “always talked about death and darkness – about suffering, about the collapse of civilizations.” In his opinion, Gloss was “convinced that the Western hegemony ends and that his place will be occupied by the BRICS countries.”

In September 2023, Gloss joined the Russian army. On the Internet, he called himself Hamza Ali, published posts in which NATO was compared with NSDAP Adolf Hitler. According to a friend of the service, he wanted to use his construction skills at the front:
