A strong explosion in the port of Shahid-Rajai occurred during a fire in a storage warehouse of harmful and chemical materials.
In the south of Iran, a powerful explosion in the port of Shahid-Rajai that thundered the city of Bender-Abbas. At least 516 people were injured, France24 reported with a local media reference on Saturday, April 26th.

In the Port’s Customs Service statement, it was noted that the cause of the explosion was probably a fire that exploded in the storage warehouse of harmful and chemical materials.
The port is located more than 1000 kilometers south of the Tehran capital and is considered the most modern port container in Iran. It is also located 23 kilometers west of Bender-Abbas, the capital of the province of Khormozgan, and north of the Ormuz Strait, where the fifth part of global oil production passes.
Iranian state television staff showed thick pillars of black smoke rising from port territory, where there were many containers.
Iran authorities have already ordered an investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion and evaluate the size of the injury.
