Berlin provided less arms and other goods to Kyiv than previously announced, German publications note.

Official Berlin, despite its promises, has reduced military support for Ukraine. The German opposition criticized their government for this. The German edition of Die Welt reported this on Wednesday, July 20.

According to the publication, the fact of the reduction in supplies was confirmed by the list of weapons delivered to Ukraine, published by the federal government itself on June 21.

Since then, the document has been updated three times and new products have been added, the newspaper said. In particular, over the past three weeks, Ukraine has received two deliveries. In the first week of July, Kyiv received 42 thousand dry rations from Germany, and the second delivery included 102 unarmed vehicles.

The German opposition strongly criticized the lack of additional supplies from Berlin.

“The federal government’s demonstrative reluctance to supply weapons is damaging Germany’s reputation. The coalition is turning a blind eye to the fact that democracy and freedom are now being defended in the east and south of Ukraine,” said by Thorsten Frei, parliamentary secretary of the Christian Democratic Union faction in the Bundestag.

The representative of the parliamentary Social Democratic Party of Germany, Niels Schmid, said that the support delivered to Ukraine in the past three weeks meets their own expectations.

The Scholz government is also criticized in the coalition. In particular, in the Free Democratic Party.

“Although Germany’s economic, humanitarian and financial support is exemplary, the chancellor cannot convincingly justify his reluctance to provide heavy weapons,” said Alexander Müller, party spokesman for on defense policy.

Remember that in the event of the end of the war in Ukraine and the establishment of peace on the terms of Russia, Western sanctions against the Russian Federation will not be lifted.

In addition, the German authorities last month gave Ukraine a billion euros in financial aid.
