In Ukraine, since May 2023, there is one register of missing. Currently, he has about 63,000 people, most of them disappeared from war and occupation.

He noted that this register has been placed in all those who have disappeared since 2014:
There is data on military and civilians, stateless persons, and foreigners who are legally located in Ukraine. And a separate section – data on non -identified bodies. This allows you to track the whole procedure in the framework of the study – everything that can contribute to the identification of the body.
According to Dobardov, 10,000 people have confirmation that they are captured. This is called official confirmation from the country of aggressor through the International Committee of the Red Cross (Musk) and unofficial.
The main unofficial sources of information are the testimony of those who returned from captivity and were looking for Osint. Certain citizens of the Russian Federation, the military, teach information on the Internet from which we record the fact of people in captivity. According to Noskododov, with the help of such sources, the workers of my office installed more than one and a half thousand missing, said the Doberdododov.
Everyone who received the status of absence remained in the register up to two facts:
- The first person is released, he is on the territory of the Ukrainian government or abroad in the countries with which we have international legal agreements;
- Secondly, when an investigation was conducted, some exams and investigators or prosecutors make a legal decision to identify the body as a person who was considered missing.
Kindness noted that civilians can be considered missing in case of occupation. But not every civilian who remained in the occupied territory is considered missing.
If this person does not take illegal actions, he is free in his actions, he can report, for example, with loved ones, acquaintances who remain in the controlled territory of Ukraine, as a rule, no statements about his disappearance have been received, and there is no such person in the register, he emphasized.
But there are other stories when civilians are deposited, torture, they disappear, and no one knows what happened to them. In such cases, applications were received to the police. Or this will be controlled in the media in the occupied territories. All this is recorded, and the data is collected where this person went, ”added Dobddidov.
Children who were illegally exported can also be in this register if relatives or guardians have no connection with them.
