Ukraine and the United States signed a memorandum that consolidates the intention to conclude a joint agreement on mineral extraction, said Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko.
On Thursday, Volodymyr Zelenskyy President told reporters on the Internet.
Sviridenko wrote on his Facebook that the document “corrects the constructive work of our teams and the intention to complete and conclude an agreement that will be useful for both of our peoples.”
According to the Ukrainian deputy prime minister, “ahead is the completion of the text of the agreement and its signing.”
And then – ratification of parliaments, ”said Sviridenko.
She said that under the agreement, Kyiv and Washington will create an investment fund in the restoration of Ukraine.
During the press conference on Thursday, Zelensky said that Ukraine does not intend to recognize the assistance provided by the administration of the previous President Joe Biden in Kyiv.
Previously, Trump insisted that a joint mining agreement should be compensated by Washington to help Kyiv. According to Zelensky, the signing of the memorandum of intent was a proposal of the United States.
According to the press, at the end of March, after signing the first version of the mineral agreement, the United States proposed a new version of the contract, which many in Ukraine considered it. Since then, the parties agreed.
The text of the agreement must be completed and sign it. Subsequently, the agreement must ratify parliaments.
