Martial law for mobilization in Ukraine was continued.
On April 18, President of Ukraine Volodimir Zelensky signed bills No. 13172 and No. 13173 on the expansion of martial law in Ukraine and “On the expansion of general mobilization”. This was reported on the website Verkhovna Rada.
Thus, martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine from May 9 were extended for another 90 days – until August 6, 2025.
It is known that for the first time martial law and mobilization in Ukraine were introduced on February 24, 2022 within 30 days. After that, the conditions continued, first for a month, and from May 2022 for three months. Currently, this is the 15th continuation of martial law and mobilization from the beginning of a full-scale war.
During martial law, the country may limit the freedom of movement of citizens, as well as the movement of vehicles. There may also be prohibitions on the secret of correspondence and telephone conversations and the right to freedom of speech and the media.
We recall that on April 16, Verkhovna Rada supported the continuation of the general mobilization and martial law until August 6. This decision was supported by 357 deputies, and the deputy one people voted against this decision – Alexei Goncharenko.
