New York Times wrote about the former teacher of history from the Belal of Vitaly, who is trying to refute the myths of Russian propaganda during the video of the spokes with the Russians.
Almost every day, a small thing communicates with the Russians on the video and, using their knowledge of history, expose enemy narratives about Ukraine. The historian writes and teaches these conversations on the YouTube channel under the name “Vox Veritatis”, which means “Voice of Truth”. The channel has almost half a million subscribers.
Vitaly admits that it is usually impossible to change the views of his interlocutors. Most Russians either reject their arguments or repeat the theses of the Kremlin. Over time, a small thing realized that his real audience was not Russian, but millions of Ukrainians who were educated in Soviet times and now want to update their knowledge.
I study a lot, ”says Natalia Tina, a 64-year-old Ukrainian pensioner who called herself“ formed in the Soviet Union.
According to her, now she feels more confident, arguing with acquaintances who “do not know our history” and spread Russian narratives.
