A trip to Russia by Serbia President Alexander Vucich will undermine European Ambisions of Serbia, warned to the EU.
Serbia was threatened with a ban on joining the European Union, if President Alexander Vuchich visited Moscow on May 9. The telegraph reported this, referring to the Secretary of General of the General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia Jonathan Vsevyov.
Vuchich warned that such a visit was a violation of EU membership standards, so this journey would undermine the European’s ambitions of Serbia.
“We must make sure they understand that some decisions have their own price. The consequence is that they will not join the European Union. The Russians have tried to make people. For us it will be an important litmus. We will primarily see if we are on the side, or playing with another team,” he said.
The head of the EU diplomacy, Kai Kallas, said that at the meeting on April 14, EU foreign ministers spoke about countries that could attend the ceremony in Moscow.
He called all the Bloc member states and representatives of the institutions that came to Kyiv and show unity in Ukraine.
“Various member states clearly discussed and stated that any participation in the parades or festivals on May 9 in Moscow would not be known in vain from the European side, given that Russia was actually fighting a full -scale war in Europe,” Callas emphasized.
Remember that the Serbian oil company NIS, most of the shares of which belong to the Russian Gazprom, has actually lost the opportunity to provide oil to the Serbia market due to US penalties. NIS is one of the last Russian oil assets in Europe.
