President Vladimir Zelensky announced the need for 5 billion euros this year, which should aim to buy at least 2 million shells.
The head of the European Union’s diplomacy, Kai Callas, has reportedly possible to provide two -thirds of the EU ammunition, which involves giving Ukraine to Ukraine for 5 billion euros. He said this, which reached the EU Council for Foreign Affairs on Monday, April 14th.
At the same time, he admitted that current efforts are not enough.
This year, countries in the European Union have gained obligations to the defense of 23 billion euros, which exceeds last year. However, according to Callas, to achieve peace it is necessary to increase not only aid in Ukraine, but also the pressure on the Kremlin.
Kallas emphasized that the war would not end without the political will of both sides. However, unlike Ukraine, Russia continues to show a desire to fight, so the international community should act more precisely.
Keep in mind that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed the need for this year 5 billion euros, who should aim to purchase at least 2 million shells.
Earlier in March, it was learned that European Union authorities were working on a “realistic” plan for 5 billion euros for ammunition for Ukraine.
At the same time, the initiative may not be in line immediately. Italy is opposed to Italy and France, believing that the initiative still needs to work, claimed by resources.
