Hungary said third countries could use its territory to supply weapons to Ukraine.
Hungary’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Economy and Foreign Affairs Levente Magyar said Hungary was ready to pass through its territory all the assistance provided by other countries to Ukraine, including the military. This was reported by the Lviv City Council.
According to Magyar, Hungary will not supply its weapons, but third countries can use its territory to supply weapons to Ukraine.
“We are amazed at the events taking place here, we really sympathize with you. In the past 200 years, we have fought three times in Russia. These wars are not for life, but for death. Unlike many Western partners , we felt for ourselves what the opposition was in this big eastern country, ”he said.
Magyar also said that Hungary is ready to accept Ukrainian children in their sanatoriums and camps. In addition, the Hungarian delegation offered to assist in the treatment of civilians and military personnel in their medical institutions, and also assured their readiness to provide 1,000 scholars for Ukrainians in their universities.
It was previously reported that Hungary had decided not to participate in the provision of Western arms to Ukraine, so as not to endanger the shelling of Hungarians living in Transcarpathia.
Recall that Budapest has prepared for different scenarios related to the Russian invasion. However, the Hungarian government wants their country to stay in this conflict.
