In Uzbekistan, a man was convicted of participation in the war against Ukraine

The Uzbekistan court succeeded at the age of five, a 51-year-old man who participated in the war against Ukraine on the Russian side. It was reported by Uznews.uz.

In May 2023, a citizen of Uzbekistan went to the city of Karolsk, Primorsky territory of the Russian Federation and got a job on a farm. By the end of January 2024, he fought and destroyed the injury to another participant in the fight. After that, it was placed in a temporary detention center.

There, the man was informed that for a crime he faced in a term up to five years, but he could join the Russian army for six years and participate in hate in Ukraine. They also pledged a simplified acceptance of the Russian Federation citizenship, paying cash in case of damage and other benefits. In March, he took the oath and was appointed shooter. In October 2024, he received a passport by a citizen of the Russian Federation.

In the trial, the man slightly sought sin. He said he did not participate in hate, was not in the first front line, served on the fourth line, did not cross the border with Ukraine and “in Russia” – he served to temporarily occupy the Ukrainian Mariupol. He later escaped from the service area and left the Russian Federation territory.

The man mentioned that he had gone under Duress and asked him to ease his punishment. The court found him guilty of mercenaries and punished him for five years in prison.
