Volodymyr Zelenskyy submitted a proposal to the Verkhovna Rada on the provision by people’s deputies of consent to the dismissal of the head of the Office of the Prosecutor General, Irina Venediktova. This is evidenced by the information on the website of the Ukrainian Parliament.

The draft of the relevant resolution was registered under the number 7567. Also, the draft resolution No. 7564 on the dismissal of the former comrade and colleague of the head of state Ivan Bakanov from the post of head of the Security Service of Ukraine was registered in the Rada.
On July 17, the President removed Venediktova from the post of Prosecutor General and removed Bakanov from his duties as head of the SBU.
Recall that on July 18, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Andrey Smirnov explained that the removal of Venediktova and the removal of Ivan Bakanov from his duties as head of the SBU does not mean their dismissal. Official checks will now be carried out, after which the head of state will decide whether to submit relevant submissions to parliament.
