The international legal guarantee of the boundaries in Central Europe is one of the world’s major guarantees in the region, according to historical experience, the Poland government advisor explained.
Polish government advisor to Ukraine Pavel Koval has mentioned that US president Donald Trump has risk making a “historical mistake” if the result of negotiations at the end of the war is recognizing the claims of the Russian Federation in Crimea and other covered territories. This is known by the Financial Times.
Prime Minister Donald Tuska’s advisor to Ukrainian issues and Poland’s Foreign Affairs Committee chairman said the Red Line would cross for Poland and the remaining Central European countries if the expanded Russian boundaries were legal recognized as a result of the upcoming state of the nearby state.
Koval spoke about it before flying to Washington, where on Sunday he should meet with high US Congress officials of the US and Keito Kelllog, President Trump’s special representative in Ukraine.
According to him, there is a clear difference between “temporary decisions” to end the hate in Ukraine and “fulfilling Russia’s expectations for recognizing Crimea, Donbass or other Ukraine units, which will be a mistake in history.”
Despite Trump’s excluding European leaders in his last negotiations with Moscow and Kiev, Koval emphasized that “difficult” to discuss Ukraine’s security in Central Europe’s security.
He added that “after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia recognized the integrity of Ukraine’s territory, along with Crimea and Donbass – and this was the basis of international law.”
“The international legal guarantee of boundaries in Central Europe is one of the world’s major foundations in our region, according to historical experience,” he emphasized.
At the same time, Koval expressed confidence that Trump would eventually not allow Russia to legal to combine control of Ukrainian territories and admit that Putin was more threatening.
“Politicians can easily share political, business and military guarantees, but if we talk about real investments, companies will need a serious American guarantee,” he explained.
