After leakage of the details of the new project under the prey agreement, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky ordered to investigate the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

The investigation was started after the details of the agreement were published by the deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
On March 28, during a briefing for journalists, Zelenski was surprised that he himself did not read the document, and “the deputies already know everything.”
Zheleznyak on April 5 commented on the article in FT:

The history of the issue
The investigation began after the issues of the agreement on March 27 by the deputy people’s Yaroslav Zheleznyak from the vote, which was the first to report that there was a copy of the document “from its sources”.

Then the media were submitted to the project, and on March 30, the document was published by Mustafa Nayem Politic. Moreover, Nayyem emphasized that his sources are “not in the Ukrainian or American government and definitely not […] Associated with Russia. ”
At a briefing on March 28, Zelensky said that he considered a “strange” leakage of the American document.

According to Zelensky, as of the beginning of April, officials and lawyers are working on changes in the US proposal, which, as they hope, the Trump administration will accept in the new version before the visit of the Ukrainian delegation to Washington next week.
At the end of February 2025, Ukraine and the United States were going to sign a framework agreement on the section “Minerals” in Ukraine. The agreement made its way as a result of a quarrel in an oval office during the visit of the President of Zelensky to the United States.
On March 27, it became known that the United States transferred a new, broader agreement with Ukraine and expected that they would be signed in early April.
