Beijing has reacted strongly to a recent $ 108 million U.S. arms deal with a partially recognized state.
The Chinese government has asked the US to withdraw a recent $ 108 million arms deal with Taiwan. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on Monday, July 18.
The PRC opposes the possible sale of arms and wants the US and Taiwan to sever all military ties, said Colonel Tang Kefei, spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Defense.
“The Chinese side demands that the US side immediately cancel the aforementioned plan to sell arms to Taiwan and stop all arms sales, as well as sever the US-Taiwan military relationship,” he said.
Recall, Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe said China was ready to fight for Taiwan if it declared independence.
Moreover, Chinese Ambassador to France Liu Shai China said Beijing was ready to take back Taiwan, including military means.
