Russian citizens’ opinions on the “peaceful” initiative of the Trump administration are divided almost equal.
Supporting the war against Ukraine among residents of Russia remains maximum. Russian opinions about the proposal of US President Administration Donald Trump to end a 30-day truce divided. This has been proven by independent data Levada Center.
In March 2025, 79% of the respondents approved the war. This indicator has been almost unchanged since 2022. 14% of the respondents were opposed.
The perspectives on the continuation of the war have not changed over the past three months: more than half of the respondents (58%) believe that we should now continue with peace negotiations, and a third of respondents (34%) say that military operations need to continue.
Among the residents of Russia there is no unclear opinion about the suggested thirty -day truce between Russia and Ukraine: more than equal sharing of respondents who followed the opposite positions.
Thus, half of the respondents (50%) maintain a truce for 30 days (in particular 26% – clearly supporting, and 24% instead of support), and four out of ten (41%) do not support (in particular, 25% are clearly unsupported, and 16% rather support).
The survey was conducted from March 22 to March 26, 2025 to 1615 people.
The study was conducted at home with the respondent through a personal interview. The statistical error (with a possibility of 0.95) does not exceed 3.4%.
Remember that the support of the war against Ukraine among residents of Russia has grown to the highest. According to the Russians, “peace” negotiations and the end of the war should take place in the Kremlin terms.
