The Nord Stream 2 decision was a strategic mistake that loved Germany, admitted by a foreign minister.
Germany does not consider the possibility of restoring the Nord Stream gas pipeline operation. It was said by Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany Annalena Berbok at a press conference at Kyiv on Tuesday, April 1.
“This gas pipeline is irreversible, and this decision depends on Germany,” Berbok emphasized.
The head of the German Department of German parties has confirmed that German political parties have reached a consensus on this issue, while the media’s speculation is not true.
He added that the decision on Nord Stream 2 was a strategic mistake that costs Germany. Prior to 2022, Ukraine, Baltic and Poland warned the dangers of the gas pipeline, but Germany then “looked at the situation differently.” As a result, the country became dependent on Russia’s energy sources, and then the Kremlin used gas as a pressure instrument in Europe.
Berobok has confirmed that energy is closely related to safety, and sanctions against the Russian Federation shadow oil fleet help limit war funding.
Prior to that, German Economics and Energy Minister Robert Habek confirmed that Germany was not considering the possibility of restoring the Nord Stream gas pipelines.
Earlier it was learned that the United States was developing a project to restart the Russian gas pipeline severnoye-2 in Europe with the support of American investors.
But soon they reported that German authorities were considering the refinement of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline after reports of secret negotiations between the United States and Russia on its sale to American investors.
Keep in mind that in September 2023, one of the two pipelines of the northern stream-2 was damaged as a result of a sabotage. Another northern stream-2 gas pipeline with a capacity of 27.5 billion cubic gas meters per year was not injured, but was never used. By the end of January 2025, Denmark allowed the Gazprom subsidiary to maintain the North Stream-2 gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea by caution.
EU is not interested in starting the Nord Stream-2
