The United States cannot -“get” the island, despite the statements of the White House leader. Greenland belongs only to Greenlands.
Greenland prime minister Jens-Frederick Nielsen answered the statements of American leader Donald Trump, saying that Greenland was among the inhabitants only. He wrote about it on Sunday, March 30, on Facebook.
The Prime Minister mentioned that Greenland should listen when others talk about it. However, it should not give up on pressure.
Nielsen rejected Trump’s siege on the island and made it clear that the United States would not receive Greenland.
“President Trump said the United States” receives Greenland. “I clearly declare: The United States can’t do it. We are not among anyone else. We will decide on our future,” Nielsen said.
The Prime Minister added that the Greenlanders could not determine their future because of fear or coercion. And the US regrets should retaliate with the world, honor and unity.
“Because of these priorities, we must clearly show the American president that Greenland was ours yesterday. It is now. And so it will be in the future,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
Remember, Trump repeatedly declared his desire to add to Greenland. On Sunday, he repeated it, added that it would happen 100%. However, he did not exclude the use of military force.
Recently, US vice-president Jay Dee Vincent visited the American military base in northwest of Greenland, where he criticized Denmark’s policy toward the island and remembered Trump’s statements about its strategic importance for the United States.
