The National Military Memorial Cemetery is located near the village of Gatu, border of Kiev.
The first funerals at the National Military Memorial Cemetery (NVMK) were planned to begin in May 2025. It was announced by Ukraine Natalia Minister Natalia Kalmykova during the “time of government questions” at Verkhovna Rada, Interfax-Konraine Reports.
Note that in October 2022, the Ministers cabinet approved the creation of the Ministry of Veterans of the National Military Memorial Cemetery. It is planned to be placed on the territory of the Lysya Mountain Tract in Kyiv.
In March 2023, the Ministry of Chators and the Ministry of Culture suggested to create a military cemetery next to the Bikivnyanski grave in Kyiv. In August, the reserve said the cemetery could not be built into the Bikvnyansky forest for a short time.
It was later found that the national military cemetery was located near the village of Gatu, bordering Kiev.

In March 2025, the DU NVMK announced a soft for 1.3 billion UAH for the construction of the second stage of the Memorial Cemetery within the Gatnenskaya Territorial Community of the Fastovsky district of the KYIV region.
