Among other things, the center should provide ongoing sea observation and early warnings about potential threats and hostile activities.
Bulgaria suggested to create a multinational sea coordination center to ensure the safety of shipping in the western part of the Black Sea. This was announced by Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov after the Coalition Summite in Paris on Thursday, March 27. It was reported on the website of the Bulgaria Minister Council.
Zhelyezkov recommends putting this center in Bulgaria.
In particular, the proposal suggests that the Center will ensure continuous sea observation and an early warning about potential threats and hostile activities, as well as increase the stability of a critical underwater infrastructure in the Black Sea.
“The goal is to promote shipping and monitoring policies – wind and water, as well as critical infrastructure and all potential hostile actions in the Black Sea,” said Zhelyezov Prime Minister after participating in the meeting.
According to him, the restoration of trade shipping is very important, as it affects not only the countries of the border, but also the entire East and West trade.
Zhelyezkov says the new structure may be based on the Black Sea production group, which is formed along with Turkey and Romania.
Remember that in the new approach to Bulgaria defense, Russia is recognized as the world’s major threat to the continent.
