The leader of the Kremlin has accused the NATO countries, in particular Finland and Sweden, considering the intense north as a bridge of possible conflicts.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said Russia would defend its interests in the Arctic and send its military. He made such a statement during a speech at the International Arctic Forum, Sky News reports.
According to Putin, Russia is “concerned” with the fact that NATO member countries are considered to be the north as a “bridge for possible conflicts.”
“NATO countries are increasingly considered in the north as a bridge of possible conflicts, the use of troops in these conditions, especially the forces of their newcomers – Finland and Sweden. They create these threats in their own hands, why it is completely incomprehensible,” Putin said.
In this regard, the Kremlin leader announced the strengthening of the fighting capabilities of the Russian Federation in this direction.
“We are developing our response capabilities, updating our military infrastructure. And let’s not accept our country’s sovereignty’s sovereignty … we protect our national interests,” said the Russian dictator.
At the same time, he suggested Russia’s cooperation in the Arctic region with “friendly states, including western countries.”
Earlier, the media reported that the United States and the Russian Federation were planning cooperation with the Arctic. We talk about exploring natural resources and trade routes, as well as energy intelligence cooperation.
