The Poland Ministry of Defense has signed an executive agreement for the manufacture of the first 111 Borsuk Infantry battle vehicles for the Poland army. RMF24 reported this on Thursday, March 27.
Poland’s defense minister, Vladislav Kosineak-Kamysh, at the sign of the agreement noted that it was a “event of a decade.” In fact, Borsuk was the first transportation of battle developed and made from the beginning to Poland for the needs of the Poland army.
The contract for 6.5 billion zlotys involves the supply of 111 vehicles including logistics and educational packages. Deliveries will start this year and will last until 2029.
The minister emphasized that Borsuk is not only a unique project for Poland, but also expresses exporting to other union countries. According to him, Borsuk orders will increase, while for this you need to develop labor capabilities.
The process of creation of Borsuka began in 2014, when the Poland Defense Minister, and now the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Tomash Semonian began studies that led to the production of this unique armored personnel carrier.
