92 Estonian Parliament deputies voted for appropriate change, against seven Center Faction members.
The Estonian Parliament (Riigikogu) was taken on March 26, adopting constitutional changes, eliminating the rights of voting in local elections of the people of third countries, particularly in Russia and Belarus. This was reported by ERR on Wednesday, March 26th.
According to the amendments, which in the October election, unstable foreigners would not vote. Only for those with “gray passports” they make an exception – they will be able to vote in the last time.
92 Representatives voted for changes, against seven members of the faction of the center. For the final adoption, the support of two -thirds of parliament is required.

The center and social democratic party opposed this decision. Deputy Varro Vogolid, who did not vote, said “he could not maintain national hatred.”
Earlier in local elections, all Estonian residents could participate.
The following municipal elections in the country will be held on October 19, 2025.
