Imamoglu is a major opposition figure and a potential rival of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

In Turkey, the prosecutor’s office appealed to the court with the request of the mayor of Istanbul Ekrem Imamoglu and his four assistants. Reuters reported it.

As you know, Imamoglu is a major opposition figure and a potential opponent of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Remember, someday, the mayor of Istanbul is confined to accusations such as bribery and helping a terrorist group. However, he rejected these allegations, calling them “vandalism.”

As expected, the court will make a decision to prevent Imamoglu this morning, Sunday.

According to Turkish law, if Imamoglu was arrested on the charges of terrorism, this would allow the government to appoint a municipal care.

As reported, the Opposition Party of the CHP (Cumhuriyet Halk Partisi) called the arrest of the Istanbul mayor of an attempt by a coup, and protests exploded in many cities of the country.
