The Verkhovna Rada law enforcement committee approved the new version No. 10311, which will give the National Guard more powers.
This was reported on the Facebook page of the Corruption Center.
People’s deputies of the committee approved a bill, which gives the National Guard the right to use firearms, tear gas and unmanned vehicles against protesters. All this is located in mode, closed from society and under the sauce of the national guard, more powers “to protect the state,” CPC emphasized.
It is noted that the new version of the bill No. 10311 will allow the National Guard:
- use firearms, in particular, in order to stop mass riots – even without proper warning of protesters;
- Use rubber and plastic sticks, tear gas, as well as electric stores for participants in riots;
- note violators during riots, such as paint;
- Use drones.
It is noted that Verkhovna Rada will accept this bill in the second reading next week.
All this is very reminiscent of the so -called “Laws of January 16” and “WIB” of the liquidated “Golden Eagle,” the CPC says.
In the first reading, this bill was adopted in May 2024.
The deputy people Vidimir Vyatrovich from the “Solidarity of Euro” on his Facebook page called for the committee to consider this decision and re -check the open procedure for discussion with representatives of public organizations.
Particular attention should be paid to wild intimacy at which meetings of law enforcement agencies are held: no announcements for the web sake of Verkkhovna Rada, no invitations to deputies. There is no language about access to meetings of experts and representatives of the public. I emphasize not closed meetings, but about formally “open,” he emphasized.
