“Dirty cloud from Europe”, the information about which appeared in the media with reference to the data of specialized Internet services to monitor the quality of air does not threaten Ukrainians.
This was reported today, March 20, reports the press service of the decoration -center.
Forecasters emphasize that the work of Internet services that publish air pollution is based on information about global databases (Edgar, Cams), which once included Ukrainian factories, TPP and other large sources of pollution, which currently do not work from Russian aggression.
For Ukraine, these bases have not been updated for more than 11 years, so online services are still considered active enterprises that are already stopped or destroyed during the war, and take into account possible emissions from them, creating their forecasts.
Many enterprises were destroyed or stopped, but the algorithms do not know this and continue to show fictitious emissions, ”emphasizes the hydrometeorological center.
At the same time, the hydrometeorological center warns of a possible deterioration in the quality of air in cities in the coming days, since in Ukraine anti -cyclone weather will be stored.
This can lead to a temporary deterioration in the local quality of air in cities due to transport and industrial emissions. Nevertheless, it has nothing to do with a fictional “dirty cloud,” said the Hydrometeorological Center.
