Currently, the Foreign Representative Office has not fully opened and is not open to German people.
Three months after the collapse of the Bashar al -assad regime in Syria, Germany reopened the embassy in the country. Spiegel reported this on Thursday, March 20.
During a visit to Damascus, Foreign Minister Annalena Berbok opened the embassy, which closed in 2012, after the outbreak of the civil war in Syria.
Currently, the Foreign Representative Office has not fully opened and is not open to German people.
“The Embassy in Damascus is closed to further orders. Under the emergency, German citizens in Syria will not be able to provide consular assistance,” said the Embassy’s website.
Remember Germany plans to provide another 300 million euros for Syria’s aid and countries that welcome Syria refugees.
On the other day, the European Union announced the allocation of 2.5 billion euros for Syria’s financial support and regional countries receiving Syria refugees.
