Erdogan plans to meet Trump in April – Media

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan plans to meet US President Donald Trump at the White House in April. This was reported by the Bloomberg news agency with a reference to its resources.

Erdogan considers strengthening a strategic cooperation between Ankara and Washington that is critically important for regional stability of how Türkiye aims to be a leading mediator in resolving a series of issues from Ukraine to Syria, the media notes.

However, Erdogan administration refused to comment.

In a telephone conversation with Trump, which took place on Sunday, March 16, Erdogan called on the US president to cancel the penalties imposed on his first term in the Turkish defense industry due to the purchase of the Russian S-400 Air Defense System.

He also asked to re-include Turkey in the F-35 Fighter Development Program and complete the sale transaction of new F-16s.

Erdogan turns to the USA against the rear of a closer defense and economic cooperation with the EU against the rear of searches of European countries that have reduced the hope of Washington.
