The senator believes that the United States can adopt laws that “crush the Russian economy” if the Russian dictator has refused a Truce.
American Republican Lindsay Graham said US president Donald Trump will try to convince Vladimir Putin to sit at the negotiation table to achieve a Truce with Ukraine, if Putin will try to play with Trump, he regrets it. Graham on Sunday, March 16, told an interview with CBS News.
According to him, if Putin earnestly wanted peace, he would agree to stop the same conditions as Ukraine.
“I advise the Trump administration to tell Putin: Do you agree with stopping the same conditions as Ukraine, or not? If not, return to maximum pressure. I have a law that the US Senate will accept the excess votes, and I’m ready to move forward,” he said.
Graham emphasized that he was considering Putin a predator related to Ukraine and the region as a whole and did not see any signs that the Kremlin’s head would stop becoming a predator, “until the pressure becomes overwhelming.”
Answering the question of whether President Trump would sign the law to introduce additional sanctions against Russia, Graham suggested that Trump is probably waiting for the results of the discussions conducted by Steve Vitcoff.
The senator also remembers Trump’s plan to talk to Putin this week.
“I hope President Trump can convince Putin to sit at the table of peaceful negotiations, join the stop and find a winning decision for both countries to stop killing. You will never know until you try. And someone can do it, and this is the President of Trump. If Putin plays, he will regret it,” Graham said.
Remember that on Sunday, Trump said his conversation with Putin was expected next week.
