Moscow has no right to vote if Ukraine has asked for allied troops in its territory, the President of France said.
French President Emmanuel Macron believes Russia has no vote on the issue of distributing European troops in Ukraine. He said this in an interview with regional newspapers, reports Le Parisien-Aujourd’hui en France.
“Ukraine is a sovereign state, and if it demands allies in its territory, then it is not a matter of Russia, to accept them or not,” Macron emphasized.
Also, in his opinion, Ukraine and the USA in the negotiations in Saudi Arabia approached their eyes and was able to establish trust, agreeing to a 30-day stop.
“Moscow’s refusal to adopt a ceasefire agreement and implicit threats made, speaks of the indifference of Russian obligations and, in fact, about the reluctance to continue with the true work of peace,” Macron believed.
At the same time, according to the French leader, Franco-British’s plan for the expansion of foreign troops in Ukraine, which is now completed, has been attracting some countries. He also did not determine the provision of additional mirage fighters in Ukraine, with the “third countries that exploit them.”
Earlier, Politico said the European Union was considering allocating a new military assistance package for Ukraine for at least six billion euros to strengthen the country’s strategic position before negotiations with the Russian Federation.
