The court found him guilty under Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (terrorist attack). According to the verdict, the first four years, Romayuk should spend in prison, and the rest of the term at a maximum security colony. The lawyers said they plan to appeal to the verdict.

It is indicated that the incident was said to have occurred on the night of May 12, 2023, when an unknown person threw a bottle of combustible mixture in the military enlistment office. The fire came out quickly, and the attacking disappeared. The guard noticed the traces of arson only in the morning.

A few days later, Russian law enforcement officials stopped Romanyuk and placed him on the “terrorist and extremist” list.

The court took place in St. Petersburg, and the defendant himself participated in a meeting through a video link from Petrozavodsk.

Ukrainian defense said video review from surveillance cameras, which allegedly confirmed Romanyuk’s involvement in Arson, was conducted on procedure violations.
