Moscow considers Myanmar as a potential source of labor due to the lack of personnel in the country.
Russia began to attract migrants to labor from Myanmar – one of the poorest countries in the world. The first 24 workers, including welders, have reached the Primorsky Territory of the Russian Federation. This is informed by Rossmi on Monday, March 10.
It is expected that another 30 people will come in the coming months.
According to the recruiting company IntraMigrants took Russian courses and passed the corresponding test in Myanmar before leaving. In addition to Primorsky territory, they are also responsible for construction work in the Amur region of the Russian Federation.
Last week, the Minister of Economic Economic Development of Russian Federation Maxim Reshetnikov, said Moscow considers Myanmar as a potential source of labor due to the lack of personnel in the country. According to him, 55 million people live in Myanmar, of which 6 million are working abroad.
However, experts note that the massive flow of migrants from Myanmar to the Russian Federation limits several factors. In particular, migrants are required to translate about 30% of their income through banks, which, due to the difference between the official and market exchange rate in Myanmar, makes Russia’s work more attractive. In addition, since 2024, the country has been lawful of the overall military duty, limiting the removal of men under the age of 35.
Due to these factors, a set of workers from Myanmar to Russia is possible only in the middle, notes of analysts.
Remember, recently, the head of the Myanmar military government, General Min Aun Khline compared Russian dictator Vladimir Putin along with the king.
