The trust of German citizens in the United States fell sharply.
Only 16% of the Germans consider the United States a reliable partner. According to ARD Deutschlandtrend, trust in Germany fell by 38% compared to October last year.
The study also showed that almost a quarter of respondents are strongly or very concerned about security in Europe. And 84% of respondents consider NATO important to ensure peace in the EU.
France deserves the greatest trust among partner countries. 85% of Germany see a reliable partner in this country. British (78%) and Ukraine (44%) trust a little less. As for Russia, there were 10% of respondents among respondents among respondents, but 83% of respondents did not trust her at all.
Citizens learn that Germany and Europe should be more responsible for their own security. The small majority (54%) believes that Germany should become more independent of NATO and build a European military alliance.
