Tehran also mentioned that they are trying to resolve the issue accurately through political means.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said that “Tehran continues to do its best” to end Russia’s war against Ukraine and resolve the “Ukraine crisis” through political means. His words after a telephone conversation on July 15 with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba were published by the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
“I told the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine that Iran’s main position is to oppose war around the world. As for Ukraine, as we said at the very beginning of the crisis, we want the issues to be resolved by political way, ”Abdollahian said.
According to him, Iran’s policy “also corresponds to this principle, and we are against any actions that lead to the resumption and exacerbation of conflicts.”
The minister called “baseless” accusations by Jake Sullivan, US national security adviser, that Iran would soon hand over drones to Russia for the war against Ukraine. Abdollahian confirmed that these statements allegedly serve some purpose of U.S. propaganda over Joe Biden’s visit to the Middle East.
Iran’s Foreign Minister said Kuleba allegedly told him: Tehran and Kyiv “should not allow accusations made by others to damage their relationship.” The Iranian official noted that Tehran is “ready for a comprehensive expansion of relations with Kyiv, especially in the fields of economy and agriculture.”
In addition, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said they would not buy stolen Ukrainian grain.
Abdollahian also said that “Kuleba once again invited me to visit Ukraine.”
