In February, the sales of Tesla in Scandinavia and France fell sharply compared to last year – the American electric car manufacturer ran into a brand -based testing against the role of General Director Ilon Mask in US President Donald Trump.
Reuters writes about this.
Tesla, whose cars headed sales in Norway, Sweden and Denmark in 2023 and 2024, this year lagged behind competitors such as Volkswagen and Toyota.
The arrival of the mask in politics, its radical reduction of US civil servants and the support of distant political views in Europe led to the boycott of Tesla.
Last month, 613 New Tesla was registered in Sweden, which is 42% less than last year, while registration in Norway and Denmark fell by 48% to 917 and 509 cars, respectively, despite the increase in the total demand for the car in three countries, including electric cars.
Tesla registration in France also decreased by 45% during the first two months of the year compared to the same period of 2024, showed data published on Saturday by the French PFA car, continuing the negative trend of this year in Europe.
Last year, Model Y was the best-selling electric car in France and the 10th of the best-selling car, while this year it was only the 27th and ahead of the Peugeot 208, Renault 5 and Citroen E-C3.
