The war of Ukraine and Russia are far from completion, says the President of Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Negotiations on the dismissal of hostilities are only at the initial stage, and before the final settlement of the world is still far away. No side began the real processes of reconciliation of conditions for the end of the war. Zelensky announced this, communicating with British journalists at Stasted Airport, Sky News reports.
Today we are talking about the first steps, and therefore, until they become on paper, I would not want to talk about them in details. The end of the war is still very, very far. No one began all these steps, ”the media quoted.
The head of state emphasized that peace agreements should contain specific guarantees of security and liability mechanisms for their compliance. Nevertheless, Kyiv is not going to make concessions – enthusiastic territories will be considered temporarily busy. Ukraine never recognizes them with Russian property.
According to the president, the security guarantees of Ukraine should prevent a new invasion of Russia. Zelensky added that the trust of the Ukrainian people in the future largely depends on the level of international support of Ukraine.
The President also commented on the possibility of resignation and future elections. He stated that a simple vote does not mean a change in power. According to him, it is necessary not only to hold the elections, but also to “negotiate with him,” since Zelensky connects his mission with the achievement of Ukraine’s membership in the alliance.
As for leaving the office, it will not be easy to change. That is, there was no need to hold elections, we still need to prevent me. It is a little more complicated. It turns out that we must agree with me, and I said that we are moving to NATO. So I completed my task. If there is NATO, and the war is over, then I fulfilled my mission, ”said Zelensky.
Recall that the United Kingdom and France, together with Ukraine, will develop a plan for the termination of hostilities in Ukraine with security guarantees. This document will be submitted by the United States Donald Trump. In fact, London and Paris will become intermediaries in the negotiations of Kyiv and Washington.
