Viktor Orban, the head of the Hungarian government, requires the EU to begin direct negotiations with the Russian Federation to stop fire.
He wrote about this in his letter to the chairman of the European Council of Antinio.
Orban said that he opposed the attempts to “find some kind of consensus” about Ukraine and added:
It became obvious that in our approach to Ukraine there are strategic differences that cannot be overcome by preparing projects or communication.
Orban threatened to block the joint statement of the EU leaders in support of Ukraine after the summit on March 6.
In a letter, Orban writes:
I am convinced that the EU, following the example of the United States, should enter into direct negotiations with Russia about the ceasefire and the sustainable world in Ukraine. This approach cannot be harmonized with what is reflected in the Kommunik project, ”said the Prime Minister of Hungary.
On Sunday, March 2, the emergency summit of European leaders will take place in London, and on March 6 – the EU summit in Brussels.
