The Federation of American Scientists believes the restoration “is intended primarily as a spare choice, and not for the expansion of weapons.”
The United States was rebuilt at the Lakenhit Airbase in England’s Underground Storage facilities of WS3 type designed to accommodate nuclear bombs. This has been proven by a report on the Federation of American Scientists website.
American nuclear weapons were removed from the base in 2008. Now there are only multi-purpose fighters of the US Air Force F-15E and F-35A, with the ability to carry nuclear bombs.
Scientists believe that the return of the nuclear mission “is designated primarily as a reserve option, and not for the expansion of weapons.”
At the same time, it noted that in 2023 fourth years, the United States provided funding for the modernization of storage facilities for “special weapons” at Lukenhit Air Base.
According to the Federation of American Scientists, currently about 100 tactical bombs are in underground storage facilities to six US allies from NATO in Europe. In particular, 15 nuclear bombs are placed on air bases:
-
Bochel in Rhineland Palata (Germany),
-
Killel-Brohel (Belgium), Volkel (Netherlands),
-
Gedi (Italy).
In addition, 20 bombs are placed on the air base:
-
Aviation (Italy),
-
Indjirlik (tour).
They can be used with tactical fighter-bomber F-35A, F-15E, F-16 and Tornado.
Remember that in December last year, representatives of the United States, Russia, Great Britain and France, led by the PRC, met in Dubai, where they discussed nuclear doctrines.
