Major General Andriy Khnatov was appointed deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was reported on February 27 by the Minister of Defense Rastima Umarov.
In a new position, Khnatov will be responsible for generating forces and cooperation with partners.
Khnatov has more than 27 years of experience in the army, served in key positions – from the commander of the Marine Corps to the commander of the United Forces of the Armed Forces and troops of the Eastern operational command.
On February 26, the president fired Andrei Gnatov from the post of commander of the United Forces of the Armed Forces.
We recall that he commanded joint troops since June 2024 – then he was appointed to this position instead of Sodol. And last month, Gnatov became deputy chief of the General Staff.
On February 10, 2024, the new chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces at the proposal of the Commander-in-Chief Alexander Sirski was appointed Major General Anatoly Bargilevich.
