Frederick Mertz said Europe’s strengthening and independence from the United States would be a full priority.
Christian Democratic Union leader Friedrich Mertz said he is considering the priority of his policy in the future post by German Chancellor Independence of Europe from the United States. He said this Sunday night, February 23, reports DW.
“For me, the full priority is the strengthening of Europe Step -Step to achieve freedom from the United States,” Mertz said.
He noted that the Trump administration was largely indifferent to the fate of Europe. At the same time, the CDU chief compared the US government’s intervention to the German election campaign with Russian manipulations.
It is also clear that Mertz has rejected any cooperation with the Ultra -right alternative to Germany.
“We are not looking for freedom and peace in Putin’s knee,” the politician said.
Mertz noted that he hopes the government will be formed no later than Easter.
Remember, on February 23, the first parliamentary elections were held in Germany. According to Eccitpol, the first place was received by the CDU/CSS, the second place – the ultra -right batch of an alternative for Germany (AFD), and the third – SDPG.
