Ukraine expects new F-16 fighters from the Netherlands.
On February 22, President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dick Dick. During the conversation, this was also a matter of military assistance. The head of state reported this on the social network X.
I am grateful to the Netherlands for all the help and willingness to continue and increase the support of Ukraine – this is important for the stability of the whole of Europe. We expect that this year will continue the supply of F-16. The sky over Ukraine should be closed and safe – the message says.
Zelensky also announced a “productive conversation” with the Prime Minister of Great Britain Kira, during which military interaction, joint steps and events next week was agreed.
In addition, the head of state talked with the prime minister of Albania Edie Rama. During the conversation, many important issues were discussed, including joint projects.
We will recall that on February 6, the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Raising Umarov stated that the Air Force of the Armed Forces received the first French militants of the Miraage 2000 and the F-16 aircraft from the Netherlands.
Nevertheless, Ukraine will receive F-16 fighters from Belgium a year later, since the first of 30 Belgian aircraft was transferred at least 2025. The reason for this is the delay in the supply of the latest F-35 fighters from the United States in Belgium.
