The mummified remains of Tutmos II found two centuries ago, but the original burial area was still unknown.
In Egypt, the United Egypt-British mission discovered a tomb of Pharaoh near Luxor. This is the first discovery of Royal Tomb over the past 100 years. It was reported by Reuters that there was a reference to the Ministry of Tourism of Egypt.
According to archaeologists, the ancient tomb belonged to King Tutmos II. Located in the west of the Kings Valley, this grave became the last lost tomb of the Kings of Egypt of the 18th Dynasty and the first tomb of Pharaoh, which was discovered since Tsar Tutankhamun in 1922.
Archaeologists have identified the tomb due to Alebast vessels located in the area with inscriptions of Tsar Tutmos II’s names and his wife to Queen Hatshepsut, one of the few women who led Egypt.
Part of the funeral furniture, ceiling fragments were also found, painted with blue paint with yellow stars here. As archaeologists mentioned, it is found only in the graves of the leaders.
Due to the floods that occurred shortly after the death of the king, the grave as a whole was not very preserved. It is empty, and there are signs that most of its contents are moved somewhere. Currently, work is being carried out to restore the grave.
Near the city of Luxor, they have found the funeral areas of noble women, however, when archaeologists fell into the tomb, they saw that it was decorated accurately at the Pharaoh’s signing.
According to the Air Force, earlier researchers believe that the graves of the Pharaohs of the 18th Dynasty are located more than 2 km closer to the Kings Valley.
The opening of the Pharaoh’s grave completed more than 12 years of work by the joint team from the New Kingdom of Dr. Research Foundation. Letterland and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities of Egypt.
The mummified remains of Tutmos II found two centuries ago, but did not know the initial area of its funeral.
Remember that in the city of Italy of Korinaldo, archaeologists from the University of Bologna discovered a new major grave dated in the 5th century BC.
