New missiles will enhance the destruction of DPRK’s military threats and quickly prevent enemy artillery in the event of an armed conflict.
South Korea’s armed forces have adopted Earth-Earth Class’s strong tactical ballistic missile, capable of hitting DPRK’s underground objects. Yonhap reported this on Tuesday, February 18.
It is indicated that the name of the new rocket is ure, translated from the Korean language means “thunder”. It was developed mainly for the defeat of North Korean artillery installations of large -range, covered in caves or tunnels located near the Inter -Korean border -at a distance of up to 180 km.
The South Korea Committee of the Chiefs of Staff believes that new missiles will enhance DPRK military threats and can quickly prevent enemy artillery in the event of an armed conflict.
The need to have such a missile in service is due to the fact that Seoul and its surroundings, of which nearly half of South Korea’s 51-million populations live within the radius of the DPRK’s long-term artillery. And it requires continuous improving the possibilities of neutralizing a potential threat.
Earlier, South Korea announced sanctions against Russia and DPRK. The penalties were imposed against 11 individuals and 15 companies that support the Kremlin War against Ukraine.
