The British publication The Telegraph studied the conditions of the partner project, which was recently proposed by the new president of US President Donald Trump.
If this project is adopted, Trump’s requirements will cover a large share of Ukrainian GDP than reparations imposed on Germany in accordance with the Versailles Agreement, subsequently reduced at the London conference in 1921 and, according to the Dowweed plan in 1924. At the same time, he seems to be ready to completely remove Russia from the hook, ”the newspaper emphasizes.
It is noted that this document, designated as “privileged and confidential” of February 7, 2025.
It says that the United States and Ukraine must create a joint investment fund so that “the enemy sides of the conflict are not useful for the restoration of Ukraine.”
The draft agreement provides that:
- Ukraine, in addition to rare minerals, should be transferred to US control resources and infrastructure, mineral, oil and gas resources;
- The United States will receive 50% of Ukraine’s income from its own resources and 50% of the cost of “all new licenses issued to third parties”;
- The United States will benefit from such income. According to the source close to negotiations, “this item means“ first pay us and then feed your children ”;
- The fund will have the right to establish methods, conditions, conditions and criteria for choosing all future projects for Ukrainian resources.
It is noted that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky proposed to give the United States a direct share in rare earthly elements and critical minerals of Ukraine during a visit to Trump Tower in September, hoping that this will contribute to the continuation of weapons and will contain Russia from new attacks.
He probably did not hope to encounter conditions that were usually imposed on aggressive states defeated in the war. They are worse than financial fines imposed on Germany and Japan after their defeat in 1945, the newspaper emphasizes.
