The main threat to Europe is not external force, but the internal challenges of democracy, the US vice president believes.
US Vice -President Jay Di Di Wans says Washington is striving for a “rational removal” between Ukraine and Russia, while the main threat to Europe is not external force, but the internal challenges of democracy. He mentioned this in a speech at the 61st Munich Security Conference on Friday, February 14th.
He noted that the biggest threat to Europe was absent from the human Russia or China.
So, according to Wance, he is more concerned about the threat coming from the inside, that is, that Europe may “retreat from some of the most important values, values, shared with the United States.”
“I was amazed to hear that the previous European commissioner, recently speaking on television, was admired by the fact that the Roman government canceled the outcome of the election. He warned that this could happen in Germany if everything went wrong,” – he explained.
And he added that “awkward statements are surprising to Americans, because in the years Americans have said that” all financial and support have been made in the name of our common democratic values.
“Everything – from our Policy in Ukraine to Censorship to the digital sphere – seems to be defending democracy. But when we see how European courts canceled elections, and officials threatened to cancel others yet, we should ask ourselves, let’s obey the right standards, and I say ourselves – because I sincerely believe that we are in the same bunch – that we should do more in talking about democratic values , “said the vice president.
Remember, earlier the Pentagon leader called two “irreversible goals” for Ukraine. Pit Hegset also believes that the long world in Ukraine should end based on strong security guarantees and “it should not be Minsk-3.”
